Marshall Dennehey Shareholders Craig S. Hudson and Michael A. Packer Named to 2017 South Florida Legal Guide Top Lawyers List

 

 

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Two shareholders with the Fort Lauderdale office of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin were named to the “Top Lawyers” list in the 2017 edition of the South Florida Legal Guide. Craig S. Hudson was selected for Professional Liability – Defense and Michael A. Packer was selected for Insurance Litigation – Defense.

Craig S. Hudson serves as Managing Attorney of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office and Supervisor of the Professional Liability Practice Group for the state of Florida. He is also a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

An experienced trial attorney, Mr. Hudson has litigated numerous professional liability cases in the state and federal courts of Florida and, prior to 2006, also in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has a diverse client base that includes major international corporations as well as sole proprietors. His primary areas of practice include defending professionals such as lawyers, insurance agents, architects and engineers and a variety of other professionals. As an outgrowth of his work with architects and engineers, he now also represents contractors and sub-contractors in large multi-party construction defect cases. In addition, Mr. Hudson defends employers in all types of employment-related litigation at the administrative level and in federal and state court.

Recognized as a leader in his field, Mr. Hudson is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell®. He is a longtime member of the Defense Research Institute, and the Florida State, Broward County and Palm Beach County Bar Associations. He received his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and his juris doctor from Rutgers University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Michael A. Packer is the firm’s supervising attorney for insurance coverage and bad faith matters in Florida. He defends property insurers throughout the state in first party coverage matters, responding to claims for windstorm, sinkhole, fire, mold, theft, and water losses. He also provides coverage analysis and opinions of third party claims and defends insurance companies in bad faith lawsuits. Additionally, he has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution.

Among his professional achievements, Mr. Packer has been named in Florida Trend Magazine’s “Legal Elite” as an Up & Comer in the Insurance category. He also received an AV® Preeminent™ rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance and recently obtained the Designation of Certified Litigation Management Professional. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany and his juris doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, as well as the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the U.S District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S District Court for the Northern District of Florida.
