Experienced banking and litigation attorney from Roetzel & Andress joins growing Boca Raton firm
Boca Raton, FL – Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Hermann announced that Lori L. Heyer-Bednar has joined the firm as a shareholder. Heyer-Bednar comes to the firm following eight years at Roetzel & Andress where she served as national chair over the firm’s litigation practice group and the partner in charge of the Fort Lauderdale office.

In 2015, Shapiro Blasi merged with attorneys from Sedgwick, making it one of the largest independent law firms in Boca Raton.
Heyer-Bednar focuses her practice on banking, commercial lending, real estate finance, commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, business litigation and bankruptcy, with an emphasis on lender liability and asset-based lending matters. Her practice also involves loan workouts and loan restructuring, loan financing and title services. She represents numerous banks and corporate clients in both state and federal courts at the trial and appellate court level.
Among her industry awards and recognition, Heyer-Bednar has recently been selected to the Advisory Board for Florida Atlantic University’s College of Arts and Letters and she has recently been named a Top Lawyer in the 2017 edition of the South Florida Legal Guide.
Heyer-Bednar earned her juris doctor cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Florida as well as the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
