Fisher Phillips Attorney Candice Pinares-Baez delivers presentation on ‘NLRB confidentiality policies’ to 2016 HR Florida Expo

Fisher Phillips attorney Candice Pinares-Baez presented information in a  seminar titled “Confidentiality, Social Media, and Workplace Recording – How can I ensure that My Handbook Policies pass NLRB muster?” to the attendees of this year’s HR Florida Conference. HR Florida State Conference & Expo is the annual conference of the HR Florida State Council, an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) which serves the profession as the premier resource for best practices to the public and Florida human resource professionals.  The conference provides an opportunity for professionals from across the state to gather, network and learn from each other.

 

Pinares-Baez’s practice is focused on defending employment-related lawsuits and administrative complaints encompassing a variety of issues, including discrimination claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and other federal and state employment laws, and related tort actions. She has successfully litigated matters before state and federal courts and also advises clients on preventive measures aimed at reducing employment-related claims.

 

She is a member of the firm’s Education Practice Group which works closely with many accrediting agencies and school associations to represent educational institutions in employee, student, and board issues. She was listed as a Florida Super Lawyers – Rising Star 2009 and was also named as a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

 

She earned her J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude.
