Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Michael J. Ryan, a partner with the law firm of Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock & Liberman, recently participated as a speaker at the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Shepard Broad College of Law event “Voting Rights: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” which was hosted by the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.

The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is comprised of students who are concerned about the pervasive conservative orthodoxy in American law and politics. The group’s members stress the importance of law as the mechanism which governs the relationships between and among the individuals and institutions that form our society, and recognize the direct relationship between legal theory and the broader political debate about the kind of society in which we live.

“We were honored to have Mike address this group,” said Rachel Cowen, Co-President of the American Constitution Society at NSU.  “Because of his work with voters’ protection, and his passion for this subject, he was the perfect speaker for this event.”

Ryan, who also serves as the Mayor of Sunrise, is a frequent presenter and an active member of the American Association for Justice, Florida Justice Association and the Broward County Justice Association. Additionally, he has served as Chair of the Broward League of Cities Public Safety Committee; co-Chair of the Broward County Consolidated Communications Committee; Co-Chair of the Broward County League of Cities’ Joint School Resource Officers Task Force; a member of the Broward County Regional Planning Council; a participant in the Broward Chiefs of Police Association Committee on Domestic Violence Injunction Process in Broward County; and, Co-Chair of the Communications Working Group of the Strengthening Police Community Relations Task Force in Broward County.
