Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman announced that Maria Victoria Currais has joined the firm as a partner in the Miami-Dade office.

 

Currais focuses her practice in the real estate and banking practice areas, with an emphasis on commercial real estate lending, commercial real estate transactions, condominium and Housing and Urban Development filings.

 

Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner with Murai Wald Biondo & Moreno, P.A, where she practiced for nearly 20 years.  Her experience includes representing Sabadell United Bank, N.A., TotalBank, and Apollo Bank in connection with commercial loan closings, and representing Florida Housing Finance Corporation as co-bond counsel for various multi-family and single family bond issuances. She also represented Banco de Sabadell in its acquisition of TransAtlantic Bank for $175 Million.

 

Currais is an officer with PinoStrong Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the memory of Danny A. Pino by supporting the causes that were meaningful to him including sponsoring a scholarship at Florida International University for ROTC students and promoting organ donation.

 

Currais earned her B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Miami and her J.D. from Columbia University.  She is admitted to both the New York Bar and the Florida Bar.
