FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.March 14, 2016—Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos & Lehrman, P.L. attorney Gabriel F. Zambrano served as Co-Chair of the 2016 American Association for Justice’s (AAJ) Regional Student Trial Advocacy Competition (STAC) on March 10-13 in Fort Lauderdale.

Zambrano joined Elizabeth Finzio of Finzio & Finzio and Beth Feder of Winston Law as Co-Chairs for the nationally recognized mock trial competition that AAJ holds annually. This is the third year that Zambrano has Co-Chaired and recruited nearly 100 presiding judges for the competition.

Participating schools included Barry University, Florida A&M University, Florida International University, Florida State University, Louisiana State University, Loyola University, New Orleans, St. Thomas University, Stetson University, Tulane University and the University of Florida. After three competitive rounds, Barry University emerged as the regional competition winner and will advance to the finals to be held on March 31-April 3 in New Orleans.

“Volunteering as STAC Co-Chair is always one of the highlights of my year,” said Zambrano. “The competition is an incredible opportunity for law students to burnish their trial advocacy skills. This year, I came away very impressed by the hard work put in by our regional competitors.”

American Association for Justice seeks to inspire excellence in trial advocacy through training and education for both law students and practicing attorneys. The association accomplishes this goal in part by sponsoring the National Student Trial Advocacy Competition, an annual nationwide mock trial competition.

A longtime resident of South Florida, Zambrano is rated AV by his professional peers through the Martindale-Hubbell © Peer Review Rating System. He has practiced law throughout Florida since 1994. Zambrano focuses his practice on serious personal injury cases arising out of accidents or the use of defective pharmaceutical drugs. His trial experience includes handling complex and catastrophic cases, as well as multiple trials that approached or exceeded 30 days at trial.
