YOUNG BERMAN KARPF & GONZALEZ PARTNER BRIAN KARPF ADMITTED FELLOWSHIP INTO AMERICAN ACADEMY OF MATRIMONIAL LAWYERS

Fort Lauderdale and Miami, FL— The law firm Young Berman Karpf & Gonzalez is pleased to announce that shareholder Brian M. Karpf has been accepted into the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).  He was one of  a small group of elite family law attorneys admitted – and the only one in Florida – thus far in 2020.

AAML was founded in 1962 to provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law, including divorce and child custody decisions. With a small, select 1650 members total from all 50 states, the AAML seeks to advance the education, growth and standards of matrimonial law. 

Karpf is a Florida Bar Board Certified divorce and family law lawyer and mediator focusing his law practice in the areas of family and divorce law, appeals, mediation, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, surrogacy / assisted reproductive technology, and international child (Hague Convention) abduction cases.

He has served on the Executive Council of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section since 2010 and is the past chairman of multiple Section committees.  He was also appointed by the President of The Florida Bar to serve on the Family Law Rules Committee until 2017, and was elected to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyer’s Division.  He serves on the Board of Directors of LEV Children’s Museum and is also a fellow of the Florida Bar’s Leadership Academy. 

He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor from Florida International University.
