Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman Partner Justin D. Luger Appointed as Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce’s General Counsel

Litigator is one of youngest to hold position in business organization’s 112-year history

MIAMI – Justin D. Luger, a Partner with Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, P.L., has been appointed to serve as the General Counsel of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. This appointment makes Luger one of the youngest to ever hold the position in the 112-year history of the prominent business organization.

In this role, Luger will be in charge of overseeing all Chamber legal matters during his two-year term. The new role with the Chamber will not impact his full-time practice at Weiss Serota, where Luger is part of the firm’s Litigation Division.

As a part of this appointment, Luger will also serve on the Chamber’s Executive Committee, where he will assist in setting the Chamber’s future goals and agenda in the coming years.

Previously, Luger served on the Chamber’s board of directors for four years and was a Chair of the Chamber’s Young Professionals Committee – HYPE – an acronym for “Helping Young Professionals Engage.”

“I am truly honored to take on this role with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce,” said Luger. “From attending my first meeting of the HYPE Committee six years ago, to serving on the Board of Directors, I have grown into my professional life with the Chamber and have found it to be an organization that fosters success for both businesses and individual professionals in South Florida. I look forward to accomplishing great things with our new Board in the coming years.”

Luger represents private and governmental entities in the South Florida area at both the state and federal level. He handles complex commercial, business and municipal/government litigation. His representation of local governments includes litigating zoning and land use regulations, the creation and dissolution of special districts and constitutional, civil rights and negligence matters.

In May, Luger was honored by the Daily Business Review with a Professional Excellence Award in the “On the Rise” category, which recognizes attorneys for outstanding work early in their careers.

Luger earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Emory University and is a cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2010. He is a proud Miami native.
