FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –Michael S. Kantor, an associate of the Fort Lauderdale office of Weiss Serota Cole & Bierman has been named Director of Legislative Affairs of the Human Resources Association of Broward County (HRABC), the local chapter affiliate of the national Society for Human Resources Professionals.

Since 1968, HRABC has grown from its 19 charter members to more than 850 local members today. HRABC continues to promote the strategic importance of human resources management in the scope of modern business. As Director of Legislative Affairs, Michael will serve as a liaison between the association and the Florida legislature regarding new regulations in the labor and employment arena.

Kantor focuses his practice on labor and employment law, defending employers in all manner of employment-related claims, including administrative charges and lawsuits involving harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and restrictive covenants such as non-competition agreements. Kantor provides proactive advice and counseling to employers looking to navigate the complex regulatory environment in an effort to avoid claims before they arise.

Kantor earned his JD from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law where he was appointed to the Order of the Barrister in recognition of his superior advocacy skills.
