Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman Attorney Lori Smith-Lalla Elected to Board of Directors of Women in Public Finance

Organization seeks to promote female leadership within industry and community

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Attorney Lori Smith-Lalla, Of Counsel with Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman, was elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors of Florida Women in Public Finance (FWPF).  This appointment directly follows a one-year term that is being completed.

Smith-Lalla’s new term begins Jan. 1, 2019.     

The mission of the Florida Chapter of Women in Public Finance is to strengthen and embolden current and future generations of women in the public finance industry.  It seeks to create women leaders within the public finance industry and the community, as well as to foster education and raise awareness of the industry throughout the region.  The Florida chapter was founded in 2016.

Smith-Lalla is board certified in City, County & Local Government Law by the Florida Bar.  She focuses her practice on public finance and bond transactions. 

She has significant public finance experience as bond counsel and has also served as issuer’s counsel for Broward County on bond issues for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Port Everglades and the Broward County Convention Center, as well as on water and sewer and general obligation bonds.

Smith-Lalla earned her JD, cum laude, from the University of Bridgeport School of Law in Bridgeport, Conn.
