FORT LAUDERDALE—Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP announced Eugene Polyak and Joseph Young have been elected to Partner. Mr. Polyak and Mr. Young practice out of the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.

Mr. Polyak’s focus includes complex commercial litigation with a concentration on construction and real estate investment industry. Mr. Polyak drafts and negotiates contracts for owners, contractors, and design professionals and litigates issues arising from construction projects. He also has experience handling mortgage repurchase litigation, commercial foreclosures, real estate and business torts. Mr. Polyak earned his Juris Doctor at the Northwestern University School of Law.

Mr. Young is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar. His practice focuses exclusively on the construction industry representing general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, material suppliers, design professionals, sureties, and owners. Mr. Young prepares and negotiates construction contracts, provides advice and counsel for ongoing construction projects, and serves as counsel in the development, prosecution, and defense of construction and design claims, disputes, litigation, and arbitration. He earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Miami School of Law.
