Smith, Currie and Hancock LLP Welcomes Lauren R. Van Buren to its Fort Lauderdale Office


Smith, Currie and Hancock LLP, the construction law firm, announced that Lauren R. Van Buren has joined the firm in its Fort Lauderdale office.

Van Buren focuses her practice on all aspects of construction law, including the representation of owners, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.

Prior to joining the firm, Van Buren served as a law clerk at MasTec, Inc., in Coral Gables. While there, she gained valuable experience drafting and reviewing construction contracts and commercial leases.
Van Buren earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Siena College in Loudonville, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, and was recently elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, she earned several honors, including two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and a Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award. She also served as a legal intern in both the Investor Rights Clinic and the Innocence Clinic.
