Fort Lauderdale, FL – After nearly 30 years of building a reputation as leading medical malpractice attorneys at Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock & Liberman, P.A, Scott Liberman, joined by Ivan Cabrera, Sean Thompson and Brent Reitman have opened a new firm in the iconic 110 Tower, located across from the Broward County Courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Liberman Cabrera Thompson & Reitman, PLLC (LCTR) brings more than 70 years of combined legal experience and the same all-star support team to focus on medical malpractice and personal injury claims for clients who endure negligence at the hands of a healthcare professional and/or provider.

“Unfortunately, by the time our clients seek our legal counsel, they have suffered catastrophic injuries and losses.  We’ve dedicated our practice to providing them with the highest standard of service and compassion,” said Liberman, a former name partner at Krupnick Campbell.   “The work we do is critical for our clients and their families, and we remain committed to delivering results to ensure they get the justice they deserve.”

The departure is an opportunity for LCTR’s talented team of attorneys and staff to concentrate their expertise on cases ranging from wrongful death, neurologic and brain injuries, premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, defective products, nursing home abuse, and select commercial cases, as well as other areas of personal injury.

Our goal is to ensure that each client receives a comprehensive analysis, so when clients choose LCTR, they don’t just get the attorney who signed them up, they get all four partners plus our experienced support team,” said Thompson.  “It’s important we are all involved, and look at every case from every angle in order to maximize our clients’ recovery.”

About the attorneys:

After graduating from the University of Florida School of Law in 1989, Scott S. Liberman specialized in insurance defense and eminent domain.   Shortly thereafter, he applied his pre-med background to the practice of law, concentrating exclusively in medical malpractice for close to 30 years and garnering hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients.   Liberman has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers for 10 consecutive years and is consistently named to the Best Lawyers in America’s prestigious list.  He is also AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell and admitted to practice before all Florida courts and the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.  Liberman has also handled medical malpractice cases throughout the state of Florida and in Arkansas, the District of Columbia, Georgia and Colorado.

Ivan F. Cabrera established his legal career at a prominent South Florida insurance defense firm upon earning his degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1992.   He became an associate at Krupnick Campbell in 1996, working his way up to partner in just five years.   With an accounting and business background, Cabrera assesses defendants’ corporate business structures and economic damages to assure clients are fully compensated for the injuries and/or damages they have sustained.  A member of the Florida Bar, Cabrera is also admitted to practice in the State of New York, the District of Columbia and before all Florida courts, as well as the Southern District of Florida, the Middle District of Florida and the United States Supreme Court.  As an active member of several legal associations, he has served as the chairperson of The Florida Bar Grievance Committee and as an arbitrator on behalf of The Florida Bar Fee Arbitration Program.   Cabrera is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English, and has litigated wrongful death, personal injury, and commercial cases throughout Central and South America.   He has also appeared before courts and tribunals in Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala and Mexico.

With plans to become a public defender, Sean F. Thompson worked as a certified legal intern for the Public Defender’s Office in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Broward County while earning his Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University Law School.   However, after receiving his law degree in 2004, he was immediately hired as an associate in the medical malpractice division of Krupnick Campbell.  He later became a partner at the firm, litigating cases in the areas of medical negligence.   Throughout his career, Thompson has handled hundreds of cases resulting in millions of dollars in compensation for his clients.  He remains involved at his law school alma mater, speaking with students regularly as a mentor and moot court trial judge.   Thompson is admitted to practice before all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the Middle District of Florida.

Brent M. Reitman began his career as a prosecutor at the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit where he was responsible for thousands of criminal convictions and conducted scores of jury trials, earning him a Board Certification from The Florida bar.  In 2013, he joined Krupnick Campbell where he handled personal injury, wrongful death, and medical negligence cases.   Reitman has been recognized in “Top 100 Verdicts in Florida” and on the Florida Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list consecutively from 2015 through 2019.   He is an active member of several legal organizations including the American Board of Trial Advocates and serves as the President of the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Broward County Bar Association.  Reitman is also a Martindale Hubbell AV Rated attorney.  He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and in the District of Columbia.
