Paul T. Ryder, Jr. and Lindsey Ryder Join Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman 

 

 

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman announces that Paul T. Ryder, Esq. and Lindsey Ryder, Esq. have joined the firm’s labor and employment practice group.  The two will bolster the firm’s significant expertise in labor and employment law.

Paul Ryder, who joins as a partner, has significant experience counseling clients in a wide range of labor relations issues including negotiating, drafting, and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.  He also handles grievance/arbitration hearings and unemployment hearings, as well as proceedings under the Public Employees Relations Act and the National Labor Relations Act.  Paul also advises employers on federal, state and local laws regarding employment discrimination and employee rights, and assists with drafting and reviewing employment policies, employee handbooks, and employment contracts.

 

Mr. Ryder practiced labor and employment law for 11 years with Muller Mintz and Akerman. In 2006, Ryder started the Law Offices of Paul T. Ryder, Jr., P.A, where he has practiced until joining Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman.  He is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law and is certified as a Circuit and County Court Mediator. Ryder earned his law degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

 

Lindsey Ryder, who joins the firm as an associate, worked with Paul Ryder at the Law Offices of Paul T. Ryder, Jr., P.A. since 2012.   She focuses on conducting investigations for employers of discrimination and harassment complaints filed by their employees.  In addition, she handles charges of discrimination filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations under Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA and the Florida Civil Rights Act.

 

Ms. Ryder also provides employers assistance with preparing for, and participating in, collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and arbitration hearings and unfair labor practice proceedings.  Lindsey is a member of the Young Lawyer’s Section of the Broward County Bar Association and earned her JD from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center.
