Fort Lauderdale, FL – Several attorneys from Krupnick Campbell Malone Buser Slama Hancock Liberman, PA participated in the recent Broward Bench and Bar Convention hosted by the Broward County Bar Association.   The 2017 Bench and Bar Convention attracted attorneys and judges from Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. This year, the event featured a judiciary panel plenary, keynote speaker Justice C. Alan Lawson, breakout sessions, emerging law in Medical Marijuana and Trial Tracks – a day-long series of presentations on civil trial law and tactics.

 

A program titled “The Perils & Pitfalls of Proposals for Settlement” was co-presented by Kelley Stewart, partner at Krupnick Campbell. This session was moderated by Holly Krulik, who is Of Counsel with the firm.  The content provided insight into the procedural and strategic challenges in dealing with proposals for settlement.

 

Joseph Slama, also partner with Krupnick Campbell, presented “Expert Witness” in the Trial Track sector.  This session discussed the recent Florida Supreme Court Ruling concerning the Daubert/Frye standards for expert witnesses, and offered valuable information in dealing with expert witnesses and best practices for handling their testimony.

 

Lastly, also in the Trial Track sector, a mock trial featuring, among many others, Walter G. “Skip” Campbell, managing partner at Krupnick Campbell, was enacted.  Complete with moderators and witnesses, the mock trial gave attendees a new perspective on the complexities of going to trial.

 

This year’s Broward Bench and Bar Convention featured more than 600 participants.
