Miami, FL – Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse business law firm, announced that Michelle G. Ortiz has joined the firm’s Miami office as a Partner and Joscelyn M. Sanchez has joined as an Attorney.

Ortiz focuses her practice on all aspects of liability and casualty defense. She has more than a decade of experience handling insurance defense claims and litigation. Ortiz handles a variety of general civil litigation matters including commercial premises liability, professional liability, products liability, and automobile negligence.

In addition to her insurance defense litigation experience, Ortiz has also litigated more than 150 non-jury trials in family law court. She formerly served as a certified Family Law mediator and has lectured in numerous forums on family law, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual abuse. Additionally, she has provided training on the issues of family law and domestic violence to several community agencies and received the Pro Bono Award from the Dade County Bar Association in 2017 for her work with victims of violence.

Ortiz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida International University. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from the St. Thomas University School of Law, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class and was a recipient of a merit scholarship. While in law school, Ortiz was part of the International Moot Court Team. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and she is fluent in Spanish.

Sanchez assists in handling matters related to insurance defense litigation, Property and Casualty Claims, and Complex Commercial and Construction Disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Sanchez worked as a Law Clerk for a boutique business litigation law firm in Miami.

Sanchez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Florida International University. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law where she was on the Dean’s List for two semesters. While attending law school, Sanchez worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the University’s Children and Families Legal Clinic. Sanchez is admitted to practice law in Florida and is fluent in Spanish.
