Kelley Kronenberg Partner Valerie B. Barnhart Receives Alumni of the Year Award from Nova Southeastern University

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Nova Southeastern University (NSU) honored Valerie B. Barnhart with the “Alumni of the Year” award at the annual Student Life Achievement Awards (STUEYS). Ms.  Barnhart is a Partner with the full-service business law firm Kelley Kronenberg and is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. She attended NSU for both her undergraduate degree and law degree, graduating in 2006 and 2010 respectively.

 

Ms. Barnhart is actively involved with NSU and serves in many leadership roles. She is an adjunct professor and mentors the next generation of attorneys at the school’s Shepard Broad Law Center. In these roles, she devotes a substantial amount of time assisting students in preparing for the Florida Bar Examination. She typically mentors three students per exam cycle, staying in contact every day for about 10 weeks. She also regularly contributes her time to events conducted at the law school, including participating as a judge for various mock trial competitions.

 

Among her many industry leadership roles and association memberships, Ms. Barnhart is an elected representative for the 17th Circuit on the Florida Bar Board of Governors Young Lawyers Division. This year she is spearheading a women’s summit at the annual Florida Bar convention.  The summit will focus on educating female attorneys on how to build their brands, grow their book of business, gain equal respect in courtrooms and boardrooms, reach career goals, and achieve a better quality of life.

 

Additionally, Ms. Barnhart serves as the Florida Bar Board of Governors Young Lawyers Division’s Liaison to NSU’s Shepard Broad Law Center.
