Kelley Kronenberg Expands Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning Offerings with new team in Miami

Firm Adds Partner Joshua H. Rosenberg and Attorney Alexandra K. Varona

Miami, Fla. – Kelley Kronenberg, a diverse business law firm with eleven offices throughout Florida and Illinois, has expanded its Probate, Guardianship and Estate Planning practice with the addition of new lawyers in Miami who are solely focused in these areas. Joshua H. Rosenberg, who has more than 15 years of experience in this field, joins as a Partner, along with Attorney Alexandra K. Varona.

“While most lawyers focus on just the estate planning or litigation, our practice is unique given that Josh handles both sides. He can prepare the documents and litigate them,” said Michael Fichtel, Kelley Kronenberg’s CEO and Principal Partner.  “The expanded practice group offers a singular solution for clients seeking to administer or litigate in guardianship and probate matters.”

Kelley Kronenberg’s Probate Litigation practice represents executors, trustees or beneficiaries in cases where a Will or Trust is contested, such as document interpretation, improper asset management, accounting disputes and fraud. The Estate Planning and Guardianship Practice Group consists of lawyers that represent individuals, and their businesses and families, in the planning of business succession, elder care, disposition or distribution of property upon death, and the management of property in the event of incapacity. These lawyers also assist clients in establishing guardianships for minors who have received assets due to inheritance or accident settlements.

Rosenberg concentrates his practice in Guardianship Administration, Guardianship Litigation, Probate Administration, Probate Litigation, Elder Law, and Estate Planning. He represents professionals and families in the administration of probate estates; complex probate litigation; the administration of guardianship matters for minors, adults, elderly and the mentally ill; complex guardianship litigation; and the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health-care surrogates for taxable and non-taxable estates.

Rosenberg is one of a small number of lawyers who holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Estate Planning, which he received from the University of Miami School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. He has been recognized on the Florida Super Lawyers Magazine Florida Rising Stars list, Florida Trend Legal Elite Up-and-Comers list and as a “Top Up and Comer” by the South Florida Legal Guide. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Counsel of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar as well as a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

“I was looking for an opportunity to grow my practice and liked that Kelley Kronenberg’s wealth of practice areas provides additional avenues to serve my clients,” said Rosenberg.

Varona assists in handling matters related to Guardianship Administration, Guardianship Litigation, Probate Administration, Probate Litigation, Elder Law and Estate Planning. Prior to joining Kelley Kronenberg, she was an attorney at a Coral Gables-based firm where she primarily defended automobile insurance carriers in litigation. She also has experience in Tortious Interference, Antitrust, and Civil Rights matters. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Florida International University and her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, also receiving an Elder Law Certificate. While in law school, she was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Celeste H. Muir of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court in Miami-Dade County. Varona is admitted to practice in Florida.

Throughout recent years, Kelley Kronenberg has experienced significant growth in both its practice area offerings and its total lawyer count. While the firm has been known for its prolific Workers’ Compensation and insurance defense work, Kelley Kronenberg now offers more than 35 practice areas with more than 300 employees, including more than 160 lawyers practicing throughout Florida and Illinois.
