FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Cole and Bierman announced that attorney Haydee Sera has been chosen for the Women of Distinction Award by the Cultural Affairs Committee of Miami Lakes in recognition of Women’s History Month. The Committee considered the contributions the nominees made to the community through their leadership, dedication and achievements in selecting eight women in eight discrete categories.
“We are proud of this recognition for Haydee, who consistently demonstrates community leadership and dedication,” said Chad Friedman, co-chair of the firm’s Municipal Government Practice Group. Sera was nominated in the “Business” category.
Sera is a key member of the Firm’s Municipal Government Practice Group, where she provides general representation to municipalities on a broad range of issues such as elections, ethics, public records and sunshine law, including “shade” sessions. Prior to joining the Firm, Sera was the Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Miami Lakes where she diligently served as counsel to the Town’s Planning and Zoning Board, Charter Revision Commission and advisory committees. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law and is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Association.
The winners will be recognized at the Women of Distinction Awards Program and Luncheon on March 3.
