Haliczer, Pettis & Schwamm Partner Eugene Pettis Named in Florida Trend Legal Elite 2017

Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 31, 2017) Haliczer, Pettis & Schwamm P.A., a preeminent Florida law firm, announced that partner Eugene Pettis was named to Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida Legal Elite for 2017 in the category of Civil Trial.

Florida’s Legal Elite voting is open to all currently licensed and practicing Florida attorneys. Participants were invited to nominate their peers whom they hold in the highest regard and would recommend to others. Nominations were also vetted by a Blue Ribbon panel of prominent attorneys. The selected honorees represent approximately two percent of the active Florida Bar members.

Pettis, who served as the president of The Florida Bar from 2013-2014, has helped lead the firm’s recent strategic redirection to its current focus to the plaintiff’s side of medical malpractice and personal injury litigation.

“I am grateful to be named to the 2017 Legal Elite list,” said Pettis. “Florida’s legal professionals are top-notch. The fact that I was nominated alongside such high-quality attorneys is humbling.”

Throughout his career, Pettis has earned numerous legal awards and accolades, including perennial selection by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in areas of medical malpractice, personal injury and employment litigation. In 2017, Pettis was named “Lawyer of the Year” for his work in plaintiff medical malpractice. He has also been named to the Florida Super Lawyers list, the South Florida Legal Guide “Top Lawyers” list and Florida Trend’s “Legal Elite.” Additionally, Pettis earned Martindale-Hubbell’s top “AV” rating for his high professional and ethical standards.
