Farmer Jaffe Names Brad Edwards Chair of Firm’s Trial and Litigation Division

Prolific attorney has obtained multi-million-dollar verdicts in many high-profile cases

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. –The Fort Lauderdale-based law firm Farmer, Jaffe, Weissing, Edwards, Fistos and Lehrman has named Brad Edwards chair of the firm’s Trial and Litigation Division. Edwards is a founding partner at the firm and one of the nation’s most prolific trial attorneys.

Edwards, 41, has been instrumental in cementing the firm’s reputation as a preeminent litigation law firm. In just the last five years, Edwards has obtained nearly $60 million in verdicts for his clients. Most recently, Edwards on behalf of his client obtained a $7.1 million verdict against rapper Jayceon “The Game” Taylor in a civil sexual battery case, and in August 2016

Edwards served as lead plaintiff’s counsel in a successful class action trial against Donald Trump’s Trump National Golf Club Jupiter that resulted in a $5.7 million judgment entered against Trump.

“It is an honor and privilege to take on this leadership position of our incredible trial team at the firm,” said Edwards.  While continuing to try major jury trials, Edwards has focused on expanding the litigation division due to his close relationship with other elite lawyers and firms and his remarkable ability to assemble powerful litigation teams, regardless of the type or complexity of the case.  “In addition to our focus on individual high-damage trials, we specialize in assembling litigation teams in all types of complex legal matters and will do whatever necessary to make sure our client has the strongest team available.

Edwards and his Litigation Team handle Catastrophic Personal Injury and Wrongful Death cases, with a focus on representing victims of crime and their families.  He has represented crime victims in state and federal courts in nearly every type of case imaginable, including Negligent Security and Premises Liability civil actions arising out of shootings, stabbings and rapes; Sexual Abuse cases; transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and complicated fraud schemes.

While the focus of the division primarily consists of litigation on behalf of individual Plaintiffs with personal or monetary injuries, Edwards always has a few businesses and commercial clients that regularly rely on his litigation expertise.

“We do represent commercial clients and businesses, both in plaintiff and defense cases, in litigation and transactional matters,” said Edwards. “We are very careful in the selection of our commercial clients to ensure that these clients get the highest degree of legal expertise without losing the personal touch we have always delivered.”

Designated as a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Florida Bar, Edwards has been profiled in The Best Lawyers in America© and has an “AV” rating of “Very High to Preeminent” legal ability through the Martindale-Hubbell© Peer Review Rating system.

Edwards graduated with honors from the University of Florida, where he played collegiate tennis. He is a member of the Florida Bar and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.

“We are thrilled to have Brad assume this important role and set a tremendous example for our attorneys and staff,” said Farmer Jaffe Partner Steve Jaffe. “His work ethic and trial expertise are second to none. We are excited for the future of our Trial Team, and expect it will be regarded as the best around.”
