CATHY STUTIN, PARTNER WITH FISHER & PHILLIPS, PRESENTS TO THE ASSOCIATION FOR CORPORATE COUNSEL

Cathy Stutin

Cathy Stutin, partner with Fisher & Phillips in its Fort Lauderdale office, recently addressed the Association for Corporate Counsel (ACC), South Florida Chapter at its 6th annual CLE Conference.   Her topic was “Employment Law 2015: Don’t Get Tanked.”

In her presentation, Stutin reviewed the many changes in employment law coming from all directions – the courts, the legislature, administrative agencies, and even the President.   She noted that in-house counsel has a significant task in keeping up to date and provided the group with latest legal developments, how they impact the workplace and how best to stay compliant.   She examined accommodations, white collar exemptions and an array of essential information.

The (ACC) is a global bar association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations and other private-sector organizations through information, education, networking opportunities and advocacy initiatives.

Stutin represents employers throughout the country in state and federal courts, as well as before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other state and federal agencies. In her 25 years of practice in management-side labor and employment law, Stutin has tried cases involving claims for sexual harassment, race, religious and disability discrimination, retaliation and ERISA violations.

Stutin is “AV” Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She was recognized as a South Florida Top Lawyer by South Florida Legal Guide, has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2008, and selected for inclusion in Florida Super Lawyers since 2010. She was also included in the 2012 edition of South Florida’s Top Rated Lawyers, presented by Legal Leaders.
