Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Kelly Kolb Appointed to Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.January 26, 2016—Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Shareholder Kelly H. Kolb has accepted two prestigious appointments from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

 

Kolb, who is based in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office, is now a member of the 2016 Board of Directors of the chamber. He is set to begin a one-year term on the chamber board. Since 1910, the chamber has served Fort Lauderdale’s business community and helped promote economic growth and development.

 

In addition to the Board of Directors appointment, Kolb has been tapped to serve as chair of the chamber’s BusinessF1rst committee. BusinessF1rst is the chamber’s economic retention and expansion partnership with the City of Fort Lauderdale. The partnership conducts field visits with companies to determine their needs while working on issues like regulatory reform.

 

“I am honored to receive these appointments from the chamber,” Kolb said. “Fort Lauderdale is experiencing tremendous economic and overall growth. It is an exciting time to have an active role in fostering that growth.”

 

Kolb also serves on the Board of Directors of Broward Habitat for Humanity.

 

Kolb, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and Juris Doctor degree at Washington University, concentrates his law practice on defending employers against employment claims in state and federal courts and before administrative bodies and arbitration panels in Texas and Florida. He has successfully defended discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and FMLA cases, as well as individual and nationwide collective FLSA overtime lawsuits.
