Appellate Attorney Kimberly Kanoff Berman Joins Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin as Special Counsel in Fort Lauderdale

 

 

 

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Kimberly Kanoff Berman has joined Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin as Special Counsel in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office. As a member of the firm’s Professional Liability Department, Ms. Berman joins the Appellate Advocacy and Post-Trial Practice Group. Her diverse appellate practice has included the litigation of numerous appeals in Florida state and federal appellate courts across a wide variety of subject matters. Past cases have involved medical malpractice, construction defect, insurance coverage, bad faith, maritime, aviation, and premises liability.

 

In addition to her extensive appellate practice, Ms. Berman provides litigation support in insurance coverage, construction defect, premises liability, professional malpractice, and bad faith cases.

 

Ms. Berman is rated AV® Preeminent™ by Martindale-Hubbell® and has been consistently recognized on the Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars list since 2015. She is actively involved in the legal community, serving on the Board of Trustees for the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society and on the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section’s Executive Council as vice chair of the Legislative Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Florida Bar, the Broward County Bar Association, the Dade County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Florida Defense Lawyers’ Association, the Third District Court of Appeal Historical Society, and the Rosemary Barkett American Appellate Inn of Court.

 

As a leader in her field, Ms. Berman has presented on appellate and litigation support topics and authored numerous articles on important issues impacting appellate and trial lawyers. She has also served as adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, Ave Maria School of Law, and St. Thomas University School of Law.

 

Prior to joining Marshall Dennehey, Ms. Berman was the head of the appellate division at a South Florida defense firm. Before entering private practice, she was a Career Research Attorney for the Honorable David M. Gersten of the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami.

 

Ms. Berman received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations with high honors from the University of Florida and her juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. While attending law school, she held internships at the Third District and at the Florida Supreme Court in Tallahassee.

 

She is admitted to practice law in Florida, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit.
